The Glades communities of Pahokee, Belle Glade, South Bay and Clewiston have EXCELLENT air quality – among the best in the state. Despite reports from outside activists seeking to divide our communities, organizations like the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the American Lung Association, and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation all report Glades air quality is among the best in the state. While our communities are divided by distance, they should not be divided through false information. That is why the Lake Okeechobee Business Alliance – a business and community-focused group representing our Glades communities, is launching “View the Glades” – a website where you can see out communities in real time 365 days a year.
We are supported by our local chambers of commerce and residents who are sick and tired of the misinformation about our communities from groups like the Sierra Club and their highly-paid activists running fake groups like “Stop the Burn.”
